Melbourne Olympics - 1956

If the 1948 Olympic final was the first meeting between India and Britain, the 1956 Olympic final was the first meeting between India and Pakistan. India emerged triumphant on both ocassions en route to its second golden hat-trick in Olympic hockey.

This photograph was taken in Mumbai during a reception to the 1956 champions by the IHF President Naval Tata.
