Pakistan had earned a penalty corner from the first play of the Indo-Pak Champions Trophy league match. Sohail Abbas was expected to score with a devastating drag flick. Jugraj had other plans, and put his body on the line to run down Sohail's flick. Jugraj twice took hits on his leg and had to go off the pitch to recover.

When asked if he had any fear while plunging into the rocket-like drag flicks during penalty corner defence, Jugraj replied, "Why fear when we are playing for India. I can do anything for my country." India won this classic 7-4.
