Ignace was the hero of the Asia Cup final against Pakistan. With less than 2 minutes left, and with the game headed for extra-time, Ignace picked up a defence-splitting pass from Saini, wrong-footed a defender with a clever body feint, and then had a mighty slash from top of the D.

There was a gasp from the spectators as the ball crashed into the net. Then Ignace fell on his back and was buried under his teammates. This was Ignace's first ever goal against Pakistan.

Television viewers in India saw this delectable goal live on Doordarshan. When India won the final, all major TV channels interrupted their regular programmes to announce the victory.
