Nataraja, the Lord of the Dance, doing the Tandava, or the Dance of the Destroyer. The angry god, surrounded by a halo of flames, with the crescent moon on his brow, with serpents entwined around him, with a flame in the open palm of one hand, dances on the dwarf of ignorance and beats out a wild rhythm which annihilates the world at the end of the cosmic cycle.
