For people travelling by air that day, Indian Airlines commanders had announced over the public address systems of the aircraft that India had first equalised, and then won. However, Manoj Kumar was travelling by train. When it entered a wayside station, he pleaded with the guard to delay the train for 5 minutes so that they all could learn of India's fate in the World Cup. After we won, the train started on its journey again. |

was travelling out of town. For people travelling by air that day, Indian
Airlines commanders had announced over the public address systems of the
aircraft that India had equalised, and later that India had won.
However, Manoj Kumar had a deathly fear of air travel, and was travelling by train. When the train entered a wayside station, he pleaded with the guard to delay the train for 5 minutes so that they all could learn of India's fate in the World Cup. After we won, the train started on its journey again.
